FIBROMYALGIA AWARENESS DAY BLOG HOP

11 MAY 2012                    " Anything Purple"

Hello everyone,

We are getting ready for our first blog hop.  First of all I want to thank the ladies that, while knowing this was a last minute thing, decided to take the challenge and help me by  participating in this blog hop. It has really been a challenge for me to put it together.  So far I think we are on the right track to a successful blog hop.  This is an important cause because we all know someone in our life who suffers from this disease, maybe even the person sitting next to you for the last couple of crops. Most of the time no one knows in how much pain that person is in, and just think they look healthy and fine.  And this is the reason this blog hop was created. To acknowledge our friends and let them know that we are there for them.
Now moving on to the rules for the hop.  As we all know the theme is "Anything Purple".  It can be a card, a scrapbook page, a decoration, etc. Let your imagination take you to the next level.  Just think on making a Fibromyalgia patient to feel better, "be there for them".  When you post your project please talk a little about what really inspired you to participate and to make your project.
You are might be wondering if there is a prize for this hop.  Yes, there is a prize. It will be a bag full of purple things, from scrapbooking supplies to personal items. You won't be disappointed.  Also, Mrs. Alma Brooks from Alma's Pink life is having a Silhouette  gift card that she is going to incorporate as a prize for her post.
To be eligible for the prizes you have to follow my blog and everyone else's blog that is in this hop. You also must leave me and the ladies a comment in order to qualify for the prize. You get one entry for each comment you leave at each blog. If you choose not to make a comment on one of the hops you will get one entry but you won't get the +1 entry you would get if you make a comment on all hops. The bonus entry (8+1).
Thank you and good luck with your comments!

HERE IS THE GREAT LINE UP FOR THE BLOG HOP

I don't want you to miss any of the great projects these ladies have put together. I have faith that the team has been working hard for this event with just a couple of days to put it together.

Fibromyalgia Awareness Day Blog Hop

I totally understand this is a last minute message, but next Saturday is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day and I would like to host a blog hop to honor all scrapbookers and cardmakers that suffer from this condition. I have never hosted a blog hop before but for a cause like this I am willing to try, I have prizes fot the comments, the onlything I am missing is a couple of people willing to participate. The theme will be "Anything Purple" (a card, a decoration, a scrapbook page) be creative, something to let our fibromyalgia friends that we are here for them. The blog hop will go live Saturday at midnight EST and it would close for comments 48 hrs later.
I know we all know someone with this condition, and just think about making that person feel better. That would be your motivation.
If you are interested in participating please PM me as soon as you can.
Thank you so much for your support.

6 May 2012                                   I'm back!

Hi everyone,

Sorry took me a couple of weeks to get back to my blog, hope everyone understands, I know you will because all of you are such a good friends and followers. But let's stop talking about that and let me start talking about what I did during the last couple of weeks.  I have been a little busy with my daughter ( I homeschool her), working in some home projects and, of course, my crafts and my projects.

Here are the pictures of my haul:

So let's start with Michaels:

I found this pair of scissors right at the register and it cost me just $1.49.  I've used them already and they work pretty well.

Usually Enamel accents sell for $5.99 or more, I found this at Michaels on clearance for only $1.99
That was amazing!

This was a little find that I couldn't let myself pass.  The acrylic paint was .29 cents each on clearance, and the nail files I believe were $1.50 but I love the colors...... you ladies understand that, right???

These inks were a great find, they were 40% off. These are my first TH destress Inks, I know I should buy more, I paid only $2.99 each.

I used to have the Martha Stewart set of glitter but I gave them to my sister and now I didn't have a set, so I couldn't let this deal pass. 50% off, so I paid just $14.99.

I found these wood pieces $0.29 cents each on clearance, so I thought I might be able to use them in my scrapbooking room as decoration.

In the next two pictures we have some recollections flowers that were on clearance for $4.99, both border punches from EKsuccess were 40% off and I believe I paid $7.99 for one and $8.99 for the other one.  The Recollection Stamp set was on clearance for only $2.99 and finally I used my 40% coupon to buy some refill tape for my ATG gun.

So, just when I thought I had my order ready to pay these items were discovered:
- 20 sponge brushes for a dollar, so just .05cents a piece.  Can you do better than that?
-The little Recollections stickers were only $0.69 cents

The tape was on clearance for only $1.79 a piece.

The Celebrate it Ribbon were just $1.00 a roll.

This Designer Mat Pad has 96 sheets and it cost me just $2.99

So, these concludes Michaels' haul.  Let's move to Walmart now.

I went to Walmart and the first thing I saw as soon I walked in to the store was the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne.  I had heard about this book on DulceCandy's blog and she said so many amazing things about this book that I couldn't let it pass.  So the regular price was $12.99 but it was 20% off so I paid only $10.39 for it. Of course I will give my review as soon as I finish the book

Of course I have to stop by the craft section at Walmart, so I ended up buying a set of Inkadinkado inks in earth tones. Two buttlerflys punches from EKsuccess, and a new hot glue gun with fine tip.

Stopped by the scrapbooking section and I found some new Studio G products, paper tape in different colors, some metallic markers, and rhinestones in a flower shape.  Also, at the clearance section Walmart had some Cricut lite cartridges so I decided to take DUDE! because I don't have that many cartridges dedicate to boys. Ah, and some ink too.

Like always at the last minute when I am about to go and pay I discovered new Fisckars kids stamps which I thought there were perfect for kids' parties or when you have a card making party at your house you don't have to worry about the kids using your good stamps (I know I do). I believe I paid $2.79 each.

Now let's move to ROSS, I've never been at the craft section in Ross before, until my friend told me to go and check, and this is what I found; a pack of cardstock (150) for only........keep looking...

Yes, just $4.99. I've already used some and they're a good quality cardstock.

Then I went to Joanns and was able to find the Fiskars texture plates, assortments 2, I am planning to use them with a cuttlebug I ordered from ebay (used). I'm scared to break my new V2. I also found Fiskars tags stamps.

Moving on to Target:

Although I consider myself a fiskateer because I have every single scissors from the company I wanted to buy this set form EKsuccess for the same reason I bought the stamps from fiskars at Walmart. So I can give it to kids to play, and of course I'll be using them too.   lol

No this is not for me, this is for my daughter, I think is so cute that I decide to post a picture of it. This bathing suit came up for less that $40.00, which I think it is great.

During my time at Target I felt like I wanted to change my nail color so I went and got myself a bottle of nails polish remover which worked perfect, it was pure acetone. And then I bought a pale pink nail polish.

And last but not least I wanted to show you about my new nail polish my husband brought me from Puerto Rico.  I have never been able to find this brand here in the US, so if you know a place please let me know immediately because I love this brand of nail polish. This nail polish brand is Bettina and this particular one I am using is called Pink Bikini.  In the picture it looks kind of red but in reality is a hot pink. Gorgeous

Hope everyone has enjoyed my haul.  Soon I'll be talking about the book "The Magic", I've heard so many good things about it that I really can't wait to start.

Also I have been working on some scrabooking, birthday cards, and mother's day cards projects, so I'll be posting pictures soon.

I'll be talking about make up a little bit just because I have a few requests from some friends from the Ballet company were my daughter dances (I do there professional makeup during shows). And we might add a little bit of fashion....who knows.

Just stay tune for what is coming up.  Bye!

April 21, 2012

 Hello everyone!

Today has been an excellent day. Although I have been crafting for years I am new to posting my projects on facebook and my blog. So for the last two days I decided to dedicate a little more time to facebook and this is what happened. I posted a picture of the card I made for my daughter's friend that got accepted to the Swedish Royal Ballet and the Sympathy Card and I got a lot of positives feedback. It made me feel so good.  Not only that, I also was able to make over fifty new friends in like three hours I was online. I was able to talk to some of them. I had a long conversation with a lady from Argentina, who told me she was so inpired by my cards. Isn't that awesome? The time went so fast that when I checked my clock was almost one o' clock in the morning and I still had to post on my blog.  Wow, Thanks everyone for your support.

Have a blessed day and stay tuned!

Sympathy Card

April 20, 2012

Hello everyone!

Although I love making cards, today I had to make one for something I don't like.  A sympathy card for one of my daughter's ballet classmate who just lost her grandfather.  It is so hard when a person looses a family member. I wish no one has to go through.  So, even though I enjoyed making the card, I know for a fact that the person reciving the card at the other end won't be that happy.

My daughter wrote inside: "Wishing you confort in friendship and hope in prayer" she got the quote from the internet, and I believe it is the perfect one.

Stay tuned!
April 19, 2012

As I have mentioned in my last blog, I really want to catch up with everything that is happening in my life and around me.  Let me start commenting about a very great news for us. Like you all know I am the proud mother of a sixteen year old who loves to dance.  So in the last couple of weeks her best friend from ballet class got accepted to the Swedish Royal Ballet.  She is an excellent dancer and a wonderfull human being.  She has worked so hard for this moment that all of us around her can feel what she is feeling at this moment. My entire family is so proud of you, like you are one of us.  So of course, we cannot let the opportunity pass to make her a handmade card to congratulate her.  Hope you enjoy all the time to come.  Here is a picture of the card we made to make you understand how proud we all are of you.

Another thing I want to mention is that Tanner (MrCricutcrazy), who has been coaching me with my blog "thank you Tanner", has a member of his design team who just had a baby boy and another member who is expecting a baby girl "Congratulation to both of them on their new baby". So I decided to make both of them a little something for their babies, and this is what I came up with.

These are baby blankets that I crocheted on their borders. Aren't they gourgious? (yes, I crochet too)

These are the matching cards that will go with the blankets.  Love the baby's scene, so unique.

Hope you ladies enjoy the little gifts for the new baby.

Stay tuned!

April 16, 2012

Hello everyone,

It has been almost a month since I last blogged.
A lot of things have happened. Let me start with a book a read that made me laugh so much, Joshua by Josheph F. Girzone. Great book, I would recomed it to everyone. Also my friend told me that there is another book called Joshua and the Children from the same author that I should read.

I went to see "The Hunger Games" movie, even though my sexteen year old daughter dragged me to go see it. I LOVED IT!!! I enjoyed the movie, but my daughter was a bit dissappointed, becuase she had read the books before hand. I still say everyone should go see it.

I have done a few crafts, including scrapbooking projects and cards. I will post pictures from everything soon, I promise.

In my upcoming blogs I will be sharing some information about makeup and body care products I've used and loved.

Stay tuned!

March 19, 2012

Happy Monday everyone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I know I'm trying to be entusiastic on a Monday, but..... I can't help it because I did.  Remember I  was helping a friend that was sick last week.  Guess what? Today when I saw her, she had a suprise for me. And these are a few things she had for me...

A pack of K&Company 12x12.

A Draw & Gild kit.

And this is what it came inside of the kit.

Don't you think my friend is amazing?!  I helped her last week because it came from my heart to help. This is her way of say thank you :).
I'm so excited about everything. Of course tomorrow I'm going to make a Thank You card for my friend.  So come back to my blog to look at the pictures of the card tomorrow!

Have a great night everyone!

March 18, 2012
Hello everyone,
Today's blog will be a little different. Enstead of talking about crafts, I am going to talk about what we ladies do to make ourselves more pretty than what we already are. Remember, we are always BEAUTIFUL, please don't forget that.  In this busy life that we all have,we sometimes tend to forget that we even have nails if we don't have a scheduled nail appointment. Or at least that's what happens to me.  So today I decided to give my self a little manicure. I filed my nails and shaped them, cleaned the edges and then applied some nail polish.  And this is the result:

Nail polish used: Chanel 201, Sahara Beige.  (Don't know if it is discontinued or not)

I also applied a clear coat before and after the Chanel nail polish.

Hope to see you soon! :)

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone,

I hope everyone had a great day! I definately did :) . I didn't do as much today as I wanted to but I did enjoy watching my daughter bake green cupcakes. They were so yummy mmmmmmm. Thank you sweet heart.

I took care of some errans I finally sat and made my daughter a card. Here is a picture of it. Enjoy!

Here is the list of materials I used:

Garden Green Stampin' Up card stock and ink.  5 1/2 in x 2 3/4 in, scored in half will give you a
2 3/4 in x 2 3/4 in card.
Stamps from Studio G.
White Stampin' Up card stock. One piece is 3/4 in x 2 3/4 in, distressed with gold Studio G ink. Second piece is 1 1/4 in x 2 3/4 in, I also used  EK border punch, and distressed with gold Studio G ink.
March 17, 2012

Hi everyone, sorry I was gone for so long,  I just needed to help a friend that was sick.  Of course these past few days I was running around trying to get everything organized like a normal mom on a regular week.  But now I am back, ready to take care my blog and everybody that likes to read and comment onto my blog.  So here we go with the instructions for the card I made for the Pink Stamper Blog Hop,  I have to confess this is my first time to a blog hop.
1.  Piece of dark green card stock from Stampin' Up 5 1/2in x 4 1/4 in. Scored in half.

2.  Piece of light green card stock from Stampin' Up 5 1/4in x 4 in, clipped the edges of the top part with  Creative Memories decorative corner punch.

3.  The bird was made out of DCWV as well as the little hat.

4.  The grass was with a really little piece a paper from Fiskars.

5. The stamps used were from Studio G and the ink from Stampin' Up.

6.  The card should not have any problems fitting in an A2 envelope.

So this was the first part of my blog; now to the second part.   Today I received  a box from Joann's on line, so we can say that we had a mini haul of scrapbooking products:

1

3.5 round acrylic stamp block, and a 1/2 in thick acrylic block set.

2
Embossing folder from Cuttlebug Seeing Dots.

Martha Stewart punch (pine branch) and a little container of .5 oz of glossy accents and .5 oz crackle accents.

All these products I've been waiting for the longest time for our local scrapbook stores to bring them but they never did, so I dedided to order them on line and now they are finally here!  I will be posting pics of my new projects.
Well, I will have to leave for now and be back in a couple of hours after I get some of the projectos from St. Patrick day finished.

Stay tune to what is coming!
